The Nocpix ACE 2 H50R is the better all-rounder, retaining enough field of view for close-range targets while delivering improved clarity and shape recognition at longer distances. You sacrifice a little speed in target acquisition at close range in favour of a more balanced setup across a wider range of hunting conditions. It is particularly well suited to cattle country, open cropping country and more open terrain, while still remaining capable in denser environments such as cane, bananas and macadamia farms. The H50R pairs the same 640×512 sensor with a 50mm objective and 3× base magnification. Compared with the H35R, the field of view narrows from 21.9m to 15.4m at 100 metres.
The larger 50mm F0.9 objective lens, combined with the 640×512 thermal sensor, gives the H50R greater reach and improved target identification at longer distances while maintaining strong image quality across a wide range of conditions.
Its industry-leading NETD ≤12mK thermal sensitivity helps reveal finer temperature differences and detail, while Dual Clarity Mode allows you to prioritise either smoother target tracking or maximum image detail depending on the situation. The R+ 2.0 image processing engine further improves image clarity and consistency throughout the hunt.
The built-in LRF 2.0 laser rangefinder works with the integrated ballistic calculator to provide fast and accurate shot solutions. The H50R also features Ocular Zoom 2.0, extended eye relief, onboard recording and high-speed 5G WiFi connectivity, giving you a well-rounded thermal scope designed for hunters who want a strong balance between close-range usability and longer-range performance.

Which Nocpix ACE 2 Should You Choose?
ACE 2 H35R – Wider Field of View
The Nocpix Ace 2 H35R is the logical starting point for hunters who prioritise a wide field of view and lower base magnification. Its 35mm lens and 2× base magnification deliver a 22m-wide field of view at 100 metres, making it particularly well suited to country where animals can appear suddenly at close to medium range. This makes it a strong choice for hunting in macadamia farms, cane fields, banana plantations and other dense environments, where fast target acquisition can be the difference between success and failure. Importantly, the H35R still uses a 640×512 thermal sensor with ≤12mK sensitivity, so choosing this model is primarily about selecting a wider, lower-magnification optical setup rather than stepping down in image quality or sensor resolution.ACE 2 H50R – The 640 Long-Range Option
Compared with the H35R, the field of view narrows from 21.9m to 15.4m at 100 metres.ACE 2 S60R – Flagship 1280 Thermal
The Nocpix Ace 2 S60R is the flagship model. It is the true ultimate all-rounder for both close and long range. It gives you a very good field of view at close range, even better than the H35R, while the 1280px sensor and incredible zoom quality give you the best long-range clarity and shape recognition in the Ace 2 Series, making it quite a step up over the H50R for longer shots. You really can’t go wrong with this one if you can afford it. It is the perfect scope for everything from cattle country and open cropping country to dense cane, bananas and macadamias. Its 1280×1024 12μm detector contains four times the pixel count of a 640×512 sensor, paired with a large 60mm objective.Importantly, Nocpix has combined this with 2× base magnification and a particularly wide 25.6 × 20.5m field of view at 100 metres. That makes the S60R an excellent option for hunters who want both a broad viewing area at base magnification and a huge amount of sensor resolution available as magnification increases.Nocpix ACE 2 series compared ACE 2 S60R ACE 2 H50R ACE 2 H35R Sensor 1280 × 1024 640 × 512 640 × 512 Pixel pitch 12 µm 12 µm 12 µm Lens 60 mm, F1.0 50 mm, F0.9 35 mm, F0.9 Field of view at 100 m 25.6 × 20.5 m 15.4 × 12.3 m 21.9 × 17.6 m Field of view (angle) 14.7° × 11.7° 8.8° × 7.0° 12.6° × 10.1° Detection range 3,100 m 2,600 m 1,800 m Weight 980 g 920 g 850 g 640×512, 12μm & ≤12mK
The ACE 2 H50R uses a 640×512 12μm detector operating at 60Hz.
Its NETD rating improves to ≤12mK, allowing the detector to distinguish increasingly subtle temperature variation within the scene.
That matters most when the conditions aren’t producing huge differences between hot animals and a cold background.
Together with R+ 2.0 processing, it is designed to produce greater separation, cleaner edges and more natural detail in difficult conditions.
50mm F0.9 Objective
The 50mm F0.9 lens sets the H50R apart from the H35R.
A large, fast objective paired with 3× base magnification makes the H50R better suited to situations where targets are normally encountered further away.
Compared with the H35R, you give up some field of view in return for increased target scale.
For open paddocks, cropping country and long sight lines, that is often exactly the trade-off hunters want.
Ocular Zoom 2.0
The H50R’s 3× starting magnification can then be increased using Ocular Zoom 2.0.
Rather than relying solely on digital enlargement, Nocpix combines ocular and electronic magnification to produce a more natural zoom experience.
The ACE 2 eyepiece moves to 60mm eye relief and a 10mm exit pupil, providing greater eye-placement tolerance and additional clearance from the optic under recoil.
Integrated LRF 2.0
The H50R includes an integrated laser rangefinder without disrupting the traditional scope profile.
Nocpix’s LRF 2.0 redesign is claimed to deliver 11% sharper optical performance and up to 57% faster ranging in challenging conditions.
For the H50R, which is naturally suited to longer-distance use, dependable ranging is particularly valuable because estimating distance becomes increasingly difficult as ranges increase.
Integrated Ballistic System
Distance information from the rangefinder can be combined with the ACE 2 ballistic calculation system.
Once the correct rifle and ammunition data are configured, the system can calculate an adjusted aiming point based on the measured distance and relevant ballistic parameters.
This brings the rangefinder, thermal scope and ballistic solution together inside one device.
Central Focus System
The new central focus arrangement moves one of the most frequently used thermal controls closer to the shooter’s natural hand position.
Targets at 50 metres and targets several hundred metres away require different focus positions, so being able to make that adjustment without reaching around a large 50mm objective is a practical improvement over conventional front focusing.
Intelligent Target Tracking
The ACE 2 platform can combine range information with its electronic compass and positioning functions to retain information about the ranged target location.
This is intended to help bridge the gap between seeing the target through the thermal scope and physically navigating toward the location afterwards.
Dual Clarity Mode
Use Motion Mode when tracking moving animals and Still Mode when extracting maximum detail from a more stationary target.
This gives the image-processing system a clearer understanding of whether smooth movement or fine static detail should receive priority.
Magnesium Alloy Construction
The ACE 2 redesign uses a high-strength magnesium-alloy housing.
Despite the increased feature set, Nocpix says the platform is approximately 25% lighter than the previous generation and weighs less than 1kg.
That reduction matters when the H50R is fitted to a rifle that may already carry a heavy barrel, suppressor, bipod and other equipment.
Battery Performance
ACE 2 combines an internal power source with a removable 18650 battery, allowing spare batteries to be carried for extended field use.
The platform is rated for up to eight hours of operation, depending on model, conditions and feature usage.
5G Wi-Fi & Faster Video Transfer
ACE 2’s upgraded wireless system supports 5G Wi-Fi transfer rates up to 20MB/s.
That means less time waiting for recorded footage to transfer to your phone after the hunt, particularly when working with longer thermal recordings.
