Which HIKMICRO Trail Camera Should You Choose?

Both HIKMICRO trail cameras use 4G to send captures to the HIKMICRO Sight app, the same app used by HIKMICRO thermal and night vision devices. Both use covert 940nm infrared at night and detect movement out to about 25 m.

  • The T16 runs on 12 AA batteries or four rechargeable 18650 cells, and also accepts a 12V DC supply.
  • The SP5000 solar panel has a 5000mAh built-in battery, 5W maximum output, IP66 sealing and a mounting bracket, and suits the M15 and T16.

HIKMICRO Trail Camera FAQs

How does a HIKMICRO trail camera send photos to my phone?

The camera uses a 4G SIM to upload photos and video to the HIKMICRO Sight app. The app sends an alert when the camera triggers, and lets you change capture settings remotely, so you only visit the camera to service it. Check mobile coverage at the site before you set it up.

What is the difference between the 18650 and AA T16 listings?

They are the same T16 camera. The listings differ in the battery compartment supplied, either four rechargeable 18650 cells or twelve AA batteries. Rechargeable 18650s suit cameras you visit often, while AAs are easy to buy anywhere.

Do I need a solar panel?

4G uploads use more power than a card-only camera, so a solar panel stretches the time between battery changes. The SP5000 is the matching HIKMICRO option. See more HIKMICRO gear on the HIKMICRO brand page.
