Is a HIKMICRO 1280px Thermal Clip-On Right for You?

A 1280px clip-on suits shooters who run their day scope at higher magnification and want to identify animals at longer range. Behind a day scope the thermal image is magnified, so more sensor pixels mean a cleaner picture as you zoom.

Thunder TX70CL 4.0 at a glance

  • 1280×1024 sensor with 12 µm pixels and NETD under 12 mK.
  • 70mm F1.3 lens, 22.4 m wide view at 100 m.
  • Laser rangefinder in the lens housing, 10 m to 1,200 m.
  • 1920×1080 AMOLED display, IP67 magnesium alloy body.
  • Works as a handheld monocular with the optional M52 eyepiece.

1280 or 640?

The 640 models cost less and are plenty for most pig and fox shooting at normal ranges. The 1280 is worth it if you push day scope magnification hard or want the most detail at distance.

HIKMICRO 1280px Thermal Clip-On FAQs

Does the HIKMICRO 1280px thermal clip-on fit my day scope?

It mounts in front of your day scope with an adapter sized to your scope's objective, and day scopes of 1–15× are recommended. An adapter is not included, so see our clip-on adapters.

Do I need to re-zero my rifle?

No. The clip-on sits in front of your day scope at 1×, so your scope keeps its own reticle and zero. Compare other brands in our thermal clip-ons, or see the HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 range.
