Choosing a Pixfra Volans

Both Volans models share a 3840 × 2160 sensor and a 50 mm lens. The rangefinder is the deciding factor.

V850 or V850 LRF?

The V850 LRF adds a laser rangefinder that reads out to 1000 m, which helps on longer shots and across uneven ground. The V850 is the same scope without it, for closer shooting where you know your distances.

What does the adjustable aperture do?

The lens adjusts from F1.2 to F3.0. Wide open it pulls in more light at dusk and under infrared. Closed down it gives a sharper, deeper-focus image in daylight.

What IR should you pair with it?

For full darkness, add a mounted IR torch. 850 nm gives more reach and 940 nm is less noticeable to game.

Pixfra Volans FAQs

Is the Pixfra Volans a good day scope as well as a night scope?

Yes. In daylight the Pixfra Volans shows a full-colour 4K image with zoom and video recording, and closing the aperture sharpens detail across the frame. At night it switches to an infrared-lit image. That makes it a practical single scope for hunters who shoot at both ends of the day and want to leave one optic on the rifle.

How does it compare with the HIKMICRO Alpex 4K?

Both use 4K sensors and 50 mm adjustable-aperture lenses. Compare zoom range, controls and bundle options to see which suits you. Compare other series: HIKMICRO Alpex Pro, HIKMICRO Alpex 4K, HIKMICRO Alpex 4K Lite, Nocpix Nite, Pard Night Stalker, DNT Zulus and multispectral scopes.
